Birthday Fun

The month is almost over, but I thought I'd squeeze in a post about my birthday. I mostly wanted to thank my family for the two beautiful "Cakewrecks" they made for my day! They were so fun and I had a such a sugar high by the time I was done eating!

The beautiful flowers I received from my folks and from my "dubby" (which is how someone texted "hubby" to me recently) were so bright and cheery to me in my kitchen and made me smile!

I also wanted to share a fun pic of the tissue paper monster that crashed the birthday party!

All in all it was a pretty mellow day, which for most of it I watched General Conference and got recharged for the next six months! Here's to another new year!

New Home Page

I found this new website last week and thought it so beautiful that I made it my homepage. Now, when I go online I feel great peace before I do my schoolwork or business online. Click HERE to see it.

Airshow!

Last weekend we watched an airshow out at the end of a farm road and these are some of the views we saw. Above and below are "The Thunderbirds".

This was a simulated ground attack by an A-10.

The most impressive of all....a red balloon let go by a little kid. :)

Here is a C-17, such a huge aircraft and it was flying around like a small jet!
We also saw an F-18, but it was too fast for me to capture on film!
I think I passed the aircraft name test! I'm learning...slowly.

Beach Night

Here is how the beach looked when we got there on Friday night.

Here is how it looked just before we left! What a treat!

Happy (late) Independence Day!

Earlier this month I took a walk on the Ventura Pier and was impressed by the American flags flying as shown in this picture. Red, white and blue and more blue! I hope everyone had a good holiday!

New Year's Day

What a beautiful way to start out the new year! Was such a wintery kind of day, finally. I took two bike rides. One from my husband's work to my brother's house, where I took these photos. Then another with my family from their house down their road for a couple of miles. It was something we had never done all together before, and I hadn't ridden there for over 20 years! It was a fun ride, feeling like we were on vacation right next to home! I love times like that. All we need sometimes is a little change of perspective.
Afterwards we had dinner, looked at 600 photos on my brother's camera from just the last month, played Wii and watched the movie "Up"! During that time I also got a nap in. It was a fun night!

Today I stayed home with a sinus headache and started to reluctantly put Christmas away. Every year I'm reluctant to start the Christmas season and then when it's over, I'm sad! Time marches on though. I have two more weeks of my break until I go back to school. Hopefully I can be a little more productive in that time. Right now, I just feel hopelessly lazy.
